What types of translation do you offer?

I provide professional translation services in a variety of fields, including technical, legal, medical, scientific, and audiovisual (subtitling, etc.). If your content doesn’t fit neatly into one category, feel free to reach out — I’ll let you know how I can help.

Do you offer certified or sworn translations?

At this time, I do not offer sworn translations. However, I’m happy to refer you to trusted colleagues who specialize in that area.

What languages do you work with?

I work primarily between English, French, and Spanish. If you’re unsure whether your project is within my scope, feel free to ask — I’ll either take it on or help you find a reliable colleague.

What’s your typical turnaround time for translations?

It depends on the length and complexity of the text. A standard document (around 1,000–2,000 words) is usually delivered within 1–3 working days. For larger or urgent projects, I’ll provide a clear timeline upfront.

Do I need an interpreter or a translator?

Translators transfer written text from one language to another.
Interpreters transmit verbal contributions from speakers.

Therefore, if you have individuals who speak different languages, but need to communicate face to face, you need an interpreter. If you have written materials in one language that need to be in another language, you need a translator.

What’s the difference between conference interpreting and public service interpreting?

Great question!

– Conference interpreting typically involves high-level, multilingual events such as international conferences, panels, or business meetings. It may be simultaneous (spoken in real time) or consecutive (spoken after the speaker finishes).
– Public service interpreting covers settings like hospitals, courts, government offices, or legal consultations — where clear, accurate communication is essential between professionals and members of the public.

How many interpreters do we need for our event?

There is no single answer. The number of interpreters depends on:

– The number of languages from which and into which interpretation is required.
– The mode of interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive).
– The length of the meeting.
– The number of break-out sessions requiring interpreters.

Why and when do you need more than one interpreter?

The need for a team primarily depends on two factors: the type of interpretation and the duration of the event.

Interpreting demands intense concentration, and even the most skilled professionals can only maintain peak accuracy for about 30 minutes at a time. Beyond this, fatigue sets in, compromising precision. Regular breaks are essential to restore focus and ensure consistent, high-quality interpretation throughout the event.

Team Guidelines:

– 1 interpreter is sufficient for short meetings (1–2 hours).
– 2 interpreters are required for events exceeding 4 hours to guarantee seamless, error-free delivery.

By planning ahead, you ensure clarity and professionalism for your audience.

Why don’t simultaneous interpreters work alone?

Just as a plane requires two pilots to ensure safety, simultaneous interpreting demands a team of two professionals to maintain precision and clarity. The reason? Peak concentration is unsustainable beyond 20–30 minutes—fatigue risks errors, just as it would in a cockpit.

How It Works:
· Interpreters switch every 20–30 minutes, ensuring fresh focus.
· The “resting” interpreter isn’t idle; they support their partner by tracking key details: names, numbers, and documents.

This teamwork guarantees seamless, high-quality output.

Do you work remotely or in person?

Both. I offer remote interpreting and translation services worldwide, and I’m available for on-site assignments depending on your location and budget. I’m currently based between the Canary Islands and Dubai, but I travel regularly for work and can adapt to your project needs.

What type of equipment do we need at our event?

This depends on the mode of interpretation and the structure of the meeting.

For consecutive interpretation the interpreter generally needs the same equipment as the speaker (e.g. a microphone).

Simultaneous interpretation requires soundproof booths, specialized audio equipment and, in some cases, screens or cameras.

Can you help with interpreting equipment or technical setup for remote events?

Yes. I can advise on platforms, sound quality, and interpreter-friendly solutions for virtual events. For in-person events, I can also connect you with trusted providers of interpreting equipment if needed.

How much do your services cost?

Rates vary based on the type of service, language combination, technicality, and turnaround time. I’ll happily prepare a tailored quote once I have the details of your project — just get in touch!

How do I book your interpreting services?

Send me a message with your event date(s), location (or platform), and any relevant background info. The earlier the better — especially for multilingual events or conferences, which require preparation and coordination.

Should I provide preparatory material for the interpreter?

Every industry has its unique language—its jargon, nuances, and technical terms. To ensure that your message is delivered accurately and clearly, early access to preparatory materials is essential. Ideally, share these at least two weeks in advance, including draft versions where possible

Materials can include:
– Agendas
– PowerPoint presentations
– Handouts
– Background information on the company/host/event
– Speeches or outlines of speeches
– Lists of participants

Do you work with agencies or only direct clients?

Both. I collaborate with translation and interpreting agencies, NGOs, businesses, and individual clients — anyone who values clear, professional multilingual communication.
